ABOUT WALTER
Walter James Hart Jr. is a dedicated public servant who has dedicated his life to positively
impacting his community and the world. Despite facing adversity in his past, he has shown
resilience and dedication to his community. As a result, he has emerged as a leader committed to revitalizing, restoring, rejuvenating, and rehabilitating the community and residents of Gastonia.

As a professional dog trainer and the President of a non-profit that trains therapy dogs for
veterans with PTSD and children with autism, which allowed him to make a positive impact on individuals nationwide, Walter has developed a deep understanding of the needs of individuals in our community who are often overlooked or marginalized. In addition, he has traveled the nation and gained valuable experience working with individuals from all walks of life, which has equipped him with the skills and knowledge needed to lead Gastonia into a bright and prosperous future.

However, despite his success, Walter never forgot his roots and always felt a deep connection
to Gastonia. Like the hero's journey, Walter felt the call to return home, to use his knowledge, skills, and experiences to make a positive difference in his hometown.

Based on four fundamental ideals, Walter's platform is revitalization, restoration, rejuvenation, and rehabilitation. Here is a brief overview of his plans for each:

Revitalization: Walter believes that Gastonia needs a fresh start, and he is committed to
revitalizing the community through smart investments in infrastructure, education, and job
creation. He will work tirelessly to attract new businesses to the area, create jobs, and
stimulate economic growth.

Restoration: Walter understands that many of Gastonia's problems stem from a lack of
investment in public services like schools, public transportation, and affordable housing. He is committed to restoring these services and ensuring that every resident of Gastonia has access to the resources they need to thrive.

Rejuvenation: Walter believes that Gastonia is a city with great potential and is committed to
unlocking that potential by creating a vibrant and inclusive community. He will work to foster a sense of belonging among all residents and create opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to come together and build a better future for Gastonia.

Rehabilitation: Walter understands that the criminal justice system has impacted many
individuals in Gastonia and that the community can benefit from a more compassionate
approach to rehabilitation. He will work to create programs that support individuals affected by the criminal justice system and provide them with the tools and resources they need to become productive members of society.

Walter knows that Gastonia is a city with great potential and is committed to unlocking that
